Connecting with others

Hey all,
Glad to have this forum!
I'm livng in NYC, interested in connecting with other people who are into simple living. I'm a single mom, planning on buying a pice of land upstate with my almost-3-year-old, and creating an off-the-grid mini-community.
Find it difficult to meet people interested in similar things as I am here...don't have a lot of time to attend events, as I'm working two jobs and raising a pretty cool kid by myself...

Welcome to the forum! I've been trying to scale down my living requirements for the last year or so. Where are you looking to buy land? I did some searching up near Utica last summer.
